SS19 ALPINE PACKS

While designing for Lowe Alpine, James lead the design and development of a next generation of alpine packs, aiming for a ‘fast and light’ style, while being ‘fully featured’. At Lowe Alpine, carry performance was particularly important to the brand. James wanted to find a better way to comfortably carry the heavy loads associated with climbing gear via a very light weight back system. The final products were called the Rebel, ideal for long rock routes, the Renegade, perfect for light weight alpinism and the Uprise, a larger pack that could take all the essentials. All the packs came with Lowe Alpine’s new back system, the X-Sheild, and a harness designed to be thin yet soft and stretchy enough to effectively distribute a heavy load.
